Big DIY project 3D printer, TRONXY P802D

If you like building things from the ground up, this is the DIY printer project for you.  This build took may a couple evenings after work to complete. The build one night, the wiring and configuring the next night. Not a simple build but the instructions were quit good. In essence, if you print the instructions from the enclosed SD card, each step is on it's own page (24 steps in all). The printer frame is really primarily acrylic. I did not have any issues with cracking or breaking anything while installing but concerned for the logevity of this system. The all-thread base design is not very rigid so any movement of this printer may require re-leveling the bed. The print quality is not very good. It could be due to my configuaration but I get a strange texture on all my prints. Can't descirbe it really, just an odd not smooth finish on all the prints I do. The low cost will surely attract new 3D enthusiasts but I would suggest spending $40 or $50 more for the Creality Ender-3. You'll get a much better printer, easier to build, easier to use, huge improvement on print quality and no hassle wiring.

There are two brands of fiilament that we really like and highly recommend. Hatchbox is our preferred filament and Paramount is runner up. Both work excellent on our printers. Paramount has a lot of excellent colors to choose from. Both brands are available from Amazon and you can access our recommended list here.
